Beautiful handmade dohar blankets
Maya Kids
I come from a long line of entrepreneurs and having worked in media and retail
I have now launched Maya Kids. Having always travelled extensively
throughout my life, I spent three years in Athens where I was the co-owner of the
childrens clothing boutique 'The little Baby Shop' which specialised in British
designer brands. Prior to this, I worked at British Vogue as a fashion assistant and at
GQ Magazine for five years.
I take a lot of my influence from India, too. Having an Indian mother has afforded
me many opportunities to visit this beautiful country and allowed me to explore the
rich cultural and aesthetic traditions there.
I have always found dohars invaluable as a mother and was frustrated not to be
able to find them in the UK. These blankets are soft, natural, washable, and
incredibly versatile—I decided I needed to share my secret with others.
These comforting Indian blankets have been a feature in my life for as long as I can
remember, a tradition my mother introduced when my sister and I were babies, and
one I have maintained as a mother, myself.
And so, I bring you the dohar! Please read on to discover how they are made, and
how many versatile ways you can use them.
If you would like to place an order, or have any questions, you can reach me on

Thanks for all your support.
